Conor McGregor admits he 'cheated' during Dustin Poirier loss

Conor McGregor has admitted that he bent the rules by putting his fingers into his Dustin Poirier's gloves during their UFC 264 meeting.

The Notorious one was forced to call it quits having collapsed with a horror leg break in the opening round.

And in the aftermath, the Diamond accused the Dubliner of cheating by pulling him into upkicks on the mat while having his gloves held, Mirror UK reports.

Poirier claimed: "That's why I let him up at the end of the round. I let him up because he had three fingers in my glove. It's a good grip on the cuff of the tape. Pulling me down into upkicks.

"He's pulling me and kicking up at the same time. You know, I'm not surprised that he does stuff like that. I was telling Herb that 'I can't get out of it.' When I told Herb, maybe Conor pulled his fingers out."

Now, during an analysis of the fight, McGregor wrote on Twitter : "Can see the weight in those upkicks he was eating here as well. Which weren’t even the two heaviest upkicks I landed.

"Where was he going from open guard top here? He doesn't like upkicks through the face? Elbows down through the crown? You don't like it? Tough s***, see ya soon."

A Twitter user quickly replied, "When you grabbed onto his glove? Ye", to which McGregor said: "That’s right, I’m truly nasty in there. He hooked the fence. I grabbed the glove. A fight is a fight. Only b****** complain."

Upkicks are illegal in the UFC if an opponent is grounded, which Poirier was during the early exchange where McGregor was alleged to have been pulling the American.

Meanwhile, McGregor is 'worshipped by young, idiotic fans', according to UFC legend Michael Bisping.

The Octagon great has launched an explosive rant aimed at the Dubliner, questioning his decisions and urging him to 'get his s*** together'.

It comes after McGregor was accused of punching an Italian DJ last month, while he was also involved in a bust-up with celebrity Machine Gun Kelly earlier this year.

And the former UFC champion says that he doesn't follow the Notorious one on social media as he 'aggravates' him.

“I don’t follow him on social media because he aggravates me, and I find him quite disrespectful to anyone that doesn’t make as much money as him," Bisping told the Independent UK.

"He looks down his nose at them (MMA fans), but that’s not the measure of a man. On occasion I’ll see some stuff, he’s controversial so I’ll look it up to see what it’s about.

“You look at the comments and there’s still legions of young, idiotic, sycophantic fans out there that worship this guy. There’s also a lot of people that have switched off to him. He needs to get his s*** together, simple as that.

“What is his problem? He’s smashed it in every sense of the word: He’s got ridiculous wealth, he’s world famous, he became a double-champ, he’s achieved it all. Why are you not going through life with a smile on your face?

“Why are you so bitter? Why are you so angry at the world? I know why, it’s because he can’t win a f*****g fight these days.

“I respect him because he holds that close to his heart, but listen, glory days don’t last forever. You can’t be world champion forever; it’s a time in the sun that comes and goes.”
