Conor McGregor accused of breaking the "man code" after leaking private messages

Conor McGregor has been criticised for leaking private messages between himself and UFC president Dana White.

The former two-weight world champion took to social media on Friday to post the contents of his direct messages.

McGregor wanted to prove that he had been asking for fights since he stopped Donald Cerrone back in January.

But when asked about the posts, White was not impressed.

"Listen, I’ve had people blowing me up left and right," he said. "Everybody here knows, even the ladies. This is some man code stuff, you know? It’s just something you don’t do, it's one of the dirtiest things you can do."

McGregor was initially responding to UFC veteran Diego Sanchez who called out the Irishman.

He wrote: "To Diego Sanchez. "I saw your recent comments about your final bout and I am in! After you fought (Michel) Pereira, I had requested for myself and you to compete in Dublin.

"This was back in February when I was working on (fights) for my season. Good luck this weekend!"

McGregor went on to post his messages with White which also included a discussion about fighting Justin Gaethje in July.

Sanchez went on to lose to Jake Matthews at UFC 253 on Saturday night, and White added: “We were just talking about Diego Sanchez.

"Diego Sanchez is in there in a private conversation I was having with Conor. When you’re the No. 2 or three ranked guy in the world and you’re telling me you want to fight but you want to fight unranked, 39-year-old Diego Sanchez in a main event in Los Angeles – no."
