Conor McGregor €2m court controversy: Dublin woman takes alleged assault case against UFC fighter as her mum files 'personal injury claim'

Dublin fighter and global UFC superstar Conor McGregor is now facing a possible €2million hit after a Dublin woman lodged a High Court case against the Crumlin fighter.

The Dublin woman and her mother are both taking legal action against the 32-year-old who is set to fight Dustin Poirier in just days time.

The woman in question is taking the case against McGregor for alleged assault while her mum has filed for an alleged personal injury claim according to this morning's Irish Daily Star.

A solicitor for the two women confirmed to Dublin Live that two sets of papers were filed to the High Court in Dublin yesterday and that McGregor is one of two men listed as defendants.

David Coleman of Coleman Legal Partners added that no further comment could be made on the case at this point.

A statement from Karen J. Kessler, spokesperson for the UFC fighter, said: "After an exhaustive investigation conducted by the Gardai which, in addition to interviews of the plaintiff, included: interviewing numerous sources, obtaining witnesses' statements, examining closed circuit footage and the cooperation of Conor McGregor, these allegations were categorically rejected."

The statement continued: "Mr. McGregor will dispute any claims and is confident that justice will prevail.”

Details of the case have not been made public and a hearing date has yet to be set for the case.

Conor McGregor arrived at a hotel room in Abu Dhabi yesterday ahead of the UFC257 clash in the earlier hours of Sunday morning Irish time.

The Crumlin native checked out his new surroundings with fiancee Dee Devlin and the couple's kids Conor Jr and Croia.

The couple recently announced that they are expecting a third child.
