Conor McGregor is getting the scorn of the MMA community for his altercation with Machine Gun Kelly on Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards.
McGregor (21-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC), a former two-division UFC champion, made headlines when he and “MGK” got into a bit of a scuffle at the event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Original reports said McGregor requested a photo with “MGK,” but was denied. McGregor then was pushed away, which spilled his drink. Footage has shown McGregor throwing the remains of his drink in the direction of the musician, but his team said in a statement that he never approached “MGK” with a photo request.
McGregor’s representatives did not give an alternative account as to why the conflict occurred, and McGregor himself said he’s not entirely sure what happened, but he “doesn’t know anything about” the artist, other than his relationship with Megan Fox.
