Conor Gallagher's January transfer dilemma as seven clubs chase next Chelsea midfield wonderkid

Conor Gallagher has been one of the most talked about Chelsea loanees this season.

The 19-year-old has had impressive spell on loan with Charlton Athletic, becoming a regular in Lee Bowyer's starting XI.

So far, Gallagher has netted six Championship goals and has become a fans' favourite for his performances in midfield.

That has attracted a lot of attention from other clubs in England, while Scottish Premiership side Rangers have also shown an interest in taking Gallagher on loan.

Frank Lampard on Olivier Giroud's future

Several clubs have been after the youngster for the remainder of the 2019/20 season, with Burnley, Norwich, West Bromwich Albion, Millwall and Swansea all interested.

However, football.london understands that Gallagher is split on whether to leave Charlton this month, having settled well at The Valley and being a big part of the squad.

Despite the interest from other clubs, the Blues youngster has enjoyed playing under Bowyer and is prepared to play out the rest of the season at Charlton.

Gallagher revealed that he has had some contact with Blues boss Frank Lampard, with the Chelsea head coach keeping an eye on his performances.

However, he won't be returning to Chelsea this month but will likely get another shot to impress in the summer during pre-season.

With a few weeks still left in the January transfer window, Gallagher's situation is still ongoing. Charlton are keen on seeing his full loan through for the rest of the season.
