Conor Coady opens up on FA Cup heartache ahead of semi-final against Watford

Wolves captain Conor Coady has warned his team-mates that losing an FA Cup semi-final is “horrible” after urging them to seize their chance.

Classy centre-back Coady will lead Wolves out at Wembley today against Watford for a place in the final.

The defender has played on the stage before as an important part of Sheffield United's side which got to the last four in 2013/14 season.

Coady, then on loan from Liverpool , played all eight games in the League One club's run which ended with a 5-3 defeat to Hull.

It was heartbreak for Coady and the Blades who lead 2-1 at the break and were on course for a big shock before Premier League Hull rallied.

Coady, 26, said: “We need to make sure we go there and put on good performance and make it an even better day than that.

“We were really close to doing it and it was horrible to come in after the game knowing you were there and were that close.

“No-one really thought much of us but we actually went in 2-1 at half-time and we all just sat in the dressing room.

“At the time if we had got into the final against Arsenal , the other finalists would have got into Europe.

“And with us being a League One club at the time we sat there and had a bit of a laugh about it.”
