Conor Benn battles Chris Algieri in Liverpool this weekend

‘The Destroyer’ lived up to his nickname with a devastating 80-second destruction of Samuel Vargas back in April before experiencing some frustration in a wide points win over Adrian Granados five months later.
Now one of the welterweight scene’s most exciting and powerful talents is hoping to take the next step against an experienced former world champion in Algieri, a tough opponent with unquestionable pedigree but one more known for his commentary in recent times.
Benn is hoping to face the winner of February’s long-awaited all-British grudge match between Amir Khan and Kell Brook, while he’s also confident that promoter Eddie Hearn’s stable won’t be subject to another costly upset.
Co-headlining the show at M&S Bank Arena is women’s undisputed lightweight champion Katie Taylor, who battles WBA mandatory challenger Firuza Sharipova.
