Conor Benn sends message after brutal Chris Algieri knockout - ‘I’m coming for them’

Conor Benn knocked Chris Algieri out within fourth rounds on the biggest night of his career to date.

The 25-year-old looked entirely dominant throughout a bout many would have predicted to be a challenging step up and produced some lethal body shots early on to keep Algieri at bay.

A left and right combination ended the fight in dominant fashion and took Benn’s record up to 20 wins without defeat, capping off a wonderful 2021.

After the fight, Benn expressed his frustration at those who doubted him.

“Watch the next fight - ‘It’s going to be a test’,” he told DAZN.

“My point is they’re not tests. Every time I say they’re not, it sounds like arrogance but it’s just confidence speaking.

“When they say I’m top five [ranked], I’m top five for a reason.

“I’m a top world level athlete. You don’t get the rankings I have for nothing. I didn’t expect nothing else. I work extremely hard, I knew the KO was coming, if they want to come and have a fight that is what happens.

“I hope the Yanks know I’m the best fighter in Britain, number one, and number two, I’m coming for them.”
