Conor Benn's upcoming bout against Chris Eubank Jr that was schedulded to take place this weekend has been 'prohibited' by the The British Boxing Board of Control.
The 26-year-old is reported to have been randomly tested by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association [VADA] with sources initially throwing this weekend's bout in London into serious doubt.
However, with a statement soon following insisting Benn was free to fight, the catch weight fight once again looks in serious doubt. Both fighters could still however give the fight the green light, with a boxing licence not needed for the fight to go ahead by law.

Listed as a prohibited substance by both the World Anti-Doping Agency [WADA] and VADA, clomifene is on the list as both a hormone and metabolic modulator. UFC star Jon Jones has previously been suspended for also returning positive samples of the drug.
A decision had since been made by both Wasserman and Matchroom Boxing stating the fight would go ahead as planned. It read: ''We have been made aware that a random anti-doping test for Conor Benn conducted by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association returned an adverse analytical finding for trace amounts of a fertility drug.
''The B sample has yet to be tested, meaning that no rule violation has been confirmed. Indeed, Mr Benn has not been charged with any rule violation, he is not suspended, and he remains free to fight.''
Following this, a further statement was made by the British Board of Boxing, reading: "On the evening of October 4, 2022, the Board of the British Boxing Board of Control Limited resolved that the contest between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn scheduled to take place on October 8, 2022 is prohibited as it is not in the interests of boxing. That was communicated to the boxers and promoters involved on the morning of October 5, 2022."
