Connor Randall returns to Scotland after former Hearts man pens one-year deal with Premiership club

Former Hearts defender Connor Randall has signed for Ross County.

The ex-Liverpool man has penned a once-year deal in the Highlands after playing in Bulgaria last season for Arda Kardzhali.

Randall moved to Tynecastle on loan from Anfield for the 2017/18 season and was a long-term target of then manager Ian Cathro.

The scouser started off in midfield before being moved to right back and proved a reasonably popular player amongst the fans due to his attitude.

He made 27 appearances for the Jambos in total, the highlight being a 4-0 win over Celtic to end the champions’ unbeaten run of 69 games.

Randall managed two assists in maroon, picking up three bookings and one red, which ironically came in a 2-1 win away at Ross County.

He'll now get another opportunity to play in the Premiership after making the move north.

“We are delighted to get Connor into the club,” said County boss Stuart Kettlewell. ‘He is a player, at only 24, that has some terrific experience behind him, and we, and I am sure our fans, will look forward to seeing what he is going to bring to us in the coming weeks and months.”

“Right now the transfer market is extremely tough, but we are still managing to showcase the club in the best possible ways and this is only demonstrated by the desire we see from players like Connor in wanting to join up with us and play a part in our plans and ambitions.”

Randall will be reunited with former Hearts teammate Don Cowie, who is on the coaching staff in Dingwall.
