Rangers defender Connor Goldson admits he wasn't prepared for how frantic Scottish football is, describing it as "murderball".
The centre-back joined from Brighton in 2018 and has played every game this season as the Ibrox club won the Premiership title.
Goldson is a Rangers mainstay these days with over 150 appearances, but he admits Scottish football was something of a culture shock when he arrived.
The Englishman expected to be a standout from day one in what's perceived as a weaker league but soon got a rude awakening.
Goldson explained to the Sunday Times: "In the Premier League there was more time on the ball, but the intensity of Scotland is a different level.
"Some games, I call it murderball.
"When I came up here I thought not 'I'll cruise it' but 'I'll look very good here'.
"Then all of a sudden there's balls into your channels, balls into your box, corners, throw-ins, and you're conceding goals unless you're in the zone.
"The pressure has helped me improve."
