Connor Goldson clueless over Rangers contract talks as he says 'I haven't heard anything'

Connor Goldson insists he is no closer to sorting out his Rangers future after claiming he hasn’t heard an update on his contract situation.

The defender was rock-solid last season and an ever-present for Steven Gerrard as they clinched an historic first league title in a decade.

But Goldson has been below par this season and some fans have put that down to his contract situation.

The former Brighton man’s deal at Ibrox runs out in the summer and he is available to sign a pre-contract with other clubs in January.

Gerrard said in the summer he was confident the 28-year-old would extend his stay, saying: “He’s very settled and talks are on-going.

“I’m confident we can get it to where we need to get it. But at the same time we will respect Connor’s space.”

However, speaking ahead of the Europa League showdown with Brondby Goldson said: “No, I haven’t heard anything.

"I haven’t really spoken to my agent or the club recently so I couldn’t tell you where it’s at but I’m just focused on the club, playing football & making sure this club wins.”

Goldson has frequently been linked with a move back south of the border and West Ham United reportedly plotting a January move.
