Connor Barron has set a challenge to add more goals to his game after opening his Aberdeen account last weekend.
The Dons fell to a 4-1 defeat against Rangers but it's a game that will go down in the 20-year-old's memory forever. Barron pounced on a loose ball in the Light Blues box, after neat play by Luis 'Duk' Lopes, to put the Dons in front. That goal was his first for the club after 20 appearances for Jim Goodwin's side and now Barron admits he has got a taste for adding more attacking contributions to his game.
Barron said: "My first goal for the club, especially at Ibrox, it felt nice but the result wasn't there. But it's one that I will remember forever, my first goal for the club and I want to go and try get my numbers up. I've come back in and have got a goal and an assist so far but I want to just keep helping the team. On a personal note, get my numbers with goals and assists, and that's my aim."
Goodwin won't be on the touchline for the Pittodrie clash with Hibs on Friday night as he serves the second of a reduced three match ban for comments made after the previous meeting with Lee Johnson's side.
Barron is expecting a tough encounter with just a point separating the sides in the Scottish Premiership. However he doesn't believe the manager's absence will affect how the team play and insists they have the experience to handle the situation.
He said: "We are expecting a tough encounter. Hibs are a decent team but we've got to focus on ourselves and make sure that we go out there and put on a display for the fans and come away with the three points in the end. To be honest, all of our work is done during the week. We make sure that we are set up in a way where we can go into the game the way we want to be. When it comes to a Saturday, there is differences, obviously he's not going to be in the changing room and stuff like that.
"But we are all experienced enough, we know the game well enough, and we have prepared well enough to go into games the way we want to be and we don't let that distract us. Every game for this club is a big game and it's something that I thrive off of."
