Connexin Live 2019 to return to Hull alongside major city Tech Expo

Major Hull tech event Connexin Live will return this October, the smart city firm has announced.

The conference, held at the Bonus Arena, will bring together some of the biggest names in tech, and focus on how data is improving our lives.

This year, Connexin Live will take place on October 1 to coincide with the Humber Tech Expo, a two-day showcase of the region’s digital sector.

Connexin Live will touch on how data is used in the water industry to reduce leaks and manage flooding, as well as how it is helping us improve air quality and tackle pollution.

Furqan Alamgir, CEO at Connexin, said: “Outside of London the Humber has the fastest growing digital sector in the UK.

“By working together, Connexin Live and Tech Expo will showcase how the Humber is beginning to emerge as the epicentre of future digital technologies.”

The 2018 event focused on smart cities and how technology could be used to help monitor traffic, pollution, parking spaces and rubbish bins.

This year’s event has progressed to explore the world of data. Other subjects covered will include how data from CCTV can be used to manage crime and understand congestion on the roads.

Connexin Live 2018 brought together guests from almost 30 countries, and included speakers from organisations including Hull City Council, Cisco, Hull University and tech disruptor Rradar.

This year, Connexin plan on taking the event to a whole new level, and have partnered with the Tech Expo Humber to bring in over 5000 guests during the course of the 2-day tech extravaganza.

Antonio Tombane, founder of Tech Expo Humber and MD of GBIT Recruitment Limited, said: “We are excited that Connexin is bringing Connexin Live 2019 to Tech Expo Humber because we believe our vision and that of Connexin is the same, to put the Humber on the map for tech.

“Connexin Live 2018 was such a success, bringing tech companies from around the country and internationally to Hull.

“We enjoyed the insights and great speakers talking about smart cities and IoT. We are excited to be partnering with Connexin Live 2019 and believe this will be the biggest tech event yet and will benefit our region massively.”
