Connacht duo Shane Delahunt and Abraham Papali’i slapped with three week bans for start of next season

Connacht duo Shane Delahunt and Abraham Papali’i have been slapped with three week bans for the start of next season after seeing red in the first half of their PRO14 clash with Munster last month.

In the westerners' last game of their season, no 8 Papali’i was sent off on his debut by ref Frank Murphy for a high tackle on Conor Murray.

He had a six-week suspension for a mid-range offence under Law 9.11 cut in half by a disciplinary panel due to his previous clean disciplinary record and cooperation with procedure

Similarly, Delahunt, who led with his elbow into the neck of CJ Stander, had a six-week ban for a mid-range offence reduced to three due to a previous clean disciplinary record, early acceptance of the red card, cooperation with procedure and remorse shown

As the 2020/21 season fixtures are not yet finalised, the ban will span over the course of three meaningful games.
