Conlan Boxing bill: James McGivern craving more "crazy nights" after Feile experience

James McGivern is craving more "crazy nights" after sampling the atmosphere of this year's Feile an Phobail.

McGivern fought on the undercard of Michael Conlan's big showdown with TJ Doheny at Falls Park back in August.

It was an experience the 23-year-old will never forget, and an atmosphere the emerging young super-featherweight wants to savour again.

McGivern told Belfast Live: "The Feile was nuts - crazy.

"Granted, the crowd wasn't that big when I fought, because I am just starting out. But even to be in that environment ,with your family and friends going crazy, it was brilliant.

"I imagine it is just like being a rock star, and it was great having that experience. I have visualised walking out to thousands of people, so I am almost mentally ready already.

"I have pictured myself walking out to my own song and people singing. I would be driving the car and I would hear a song and think, 'That would be a good ring walk song'."

McGivern will make his fourth appearance as a professional on Friday night after easing to three comfortable points wins.

And despite being in the infancy stage of his pro career, he is setting his sights high as he looks to the future.

"I can go all the way, and I am ready to fight anyone. I look at these guys in the super-featherweight division, and I can't see any reason why I can't compete with them," he added.

"Obviously it is early doors for me and I have a lot to learn. But I was at that level as an amateur.

"There's no point taking part if you don't aim big. There's no point even making weight if you're not going to reach for the stars, you might as well pack it in."
