A conjoined twin has told how she feels she can now "channel" her sister through her life after she tragically died aged 13.
Gabby Garcia and sibling Michaela were born a month premature in California, US, and were joined up to their belly button.
It left the twins with one leg each and facing years of gruelling operations before tragically Michaela died 10 years ago after suffering complications from surgery.
Gabby, 23, now says that she has become more "girlie" like her sister was, having previously been a "tomboy" and so she hopes she can "channel" her.
Gabby has started to tell her remarkable life on TikTok and built up a large following where she also tries to educate people about disability.
“I didn’t really expect people to take such an interest in it - it went completely viral overnight and I ended up getting like 100,000 followers," she told the Independent.
“I kind of fell in love with it, and I always say I hope she’s proud of me, I finally came around to being a girlie girl, and I wish she was here to experience that with me - I feel like I can channel her through me.
“I was a tomboy, and my twin, she was so girlie and so out there and very, very, very outgoing. She would always tell me, ‘Gabby, please put makeup on with me; let me put makeup on you’ and I would never budge."
After having a modest 80 people subscribing to her videos on TikTok, things quickly changed for Gabby when she opened up about her life.
Overnight, she gained almost 100,000 new followers from people interested to hear about her experiences of being a conjoined twin.
Now 230,000 people follow her daily content with millions viewing her very personal clips.
Aspiring nurse Gabby, who lives with her family in Idaho Falls, US, has said that sharing her tragic past has helped her deal with the suffering caused by her sister's death.
Michaela passed away in 2011 when both young girls underwent surgery to correct the infected surgical mesh that was lodged into their stomachs when they were separated as tots.
They shared a pair of legs and kidneys, a bladder and intestines and only Gabby returned home.
Now she is dedicated to educating others and answering questions.
She says the most popular is "how did you use the restroom?" But she is happy to open up about her life and disability.
