Congressman Dave Min hits at the egos of his Republican co-workers by claiming that they suffer from ‘Pedophile Protection Syndrome’

The Democrats have never been shy about calling out the Republicans for their actions. When it comes to the ongoing Epstein investigation and the release of the controversial Epstein files, they have consistently held the Republicans accountable for resisting the release of vital information that could help bring justice to the victims. They have also criticised President Donald Trump, Speaker Mike Johnson, and others on numerous occasions, accusing them of shielding pedophiles.

Once again, a Democrat is accusing members of the Republican Party of trying to protect the wealthy and powerful, who are capable of committing heinous crimes against the less privileged while ensuring they face little to no consequences. Speaking on the House Floor on November 18, 2025, Dave Min, the United States Representative from California’s 47th congressional district, remarked that the House and Senate were voting on the release of the Epstein Files because the individual (President Trump) who has the power to release it has refused to do so, calling it a “hoax.”

Dave Min accused Donald Trump and Speaker Mike Johnson of going to “extreme lengths” to try to “kill” and “delay” the discharge petition, highlighting that Johnson even delayed the swearing-in of US Representative Adelita Grijalva, who was supposed to be the 218th signatory on a discharge petition that would force a vote on the Epstein Files Transparency Act for “over forty days.” He also pointed out that Johnson had threatened House Republicans who had signed the discharge petition to release the Epstein Files, before stating:

“Now several of my Republican colleagues have accused those of us House Democrats who support justice here of having Trump Derangement Syndrome. You all suffer from something much more worse, which is Pedophile Protection Syndrome. Stop protecting pedophiles. Release the Epstein Files. The victims deserve justice.”

Min’s comments have sparked several online discussions, with most people agreeing with what he said. Some are labelling his remarks aimed at the Republicans as a solid “burn,” while others are calling it a ”mic drop” moment.
