Congress to enroll 1 crore members in Karnataka by April 14

The Congress party has set a target of enrolling one crore members in Karnataka by April 14.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) spokesperson M Lakshmana told reporters in Mysuru that the party had already enrolled 63 lakh persons by March-end. The last date for enrolment had been extended from March 31 to April 14, and the Congress hopes to reach the target of one crore members by then.

The party had achieved the highest enrolment in Karnataka, Mr Lakshmana said while adding that there is no difference of opinion among party leaders in the State. Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC chief D K Shivakumar, besides M Mallikarjun Kharge as well as G Parameshwar are all speaking on one voice, he said.

Mysuru City Congress Committee president R Murthy said the party had enrolled 16,830 members in Krishnaraja Assembly segment, 11,970 in Chamaraja Assembly constituency and 24,502 members in Narasimaraja Assembly segment by March 31, 2022.
