SHIMLA: BJP national president J P Nadda launched party election campaign in Himachal Pradesh for coming assembly election by holding a road show in Shimla on Saturday.
He said that Congress party has always compromised with the interests of state and its people whereas on the other hand, the BJP has not only safeguarded the interests of the state, but also provided several developmental projects and incentives to Himachal Pradesh.
While addressing BJP workers and leaders at Peterhoff in Shimla, Nadda said that whenever Congress has come to power, the rights of the state have been snatched. He said that special status and industrial package of Himachal Pradesh were scrapped during Congress regimes while when BJP came to power it restored them. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi on coming to power has put Himachal Pradesh among the special category hill states when Congress regime was there in the state.
He said that before that then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had provided industrial package to Himachal Pradesh due to which the state today is known as the pharma hub of country. He said that a dozen pharmaceutical companies located in the state export their products worldwide and this became possible only because of industrial package. He said that nine food parks of Multi-National Companies have been established in the State.
He said that it was Congress that opposed the industrial package saying that same was not available for Punjab and Haryana. He said that Congress then had said that either it should be provided to all three states or should be withdrawn. "This is different thing though that Congress has been wiped from Punjab and Haryana both," he said, adding that BJP is a party with difference and is always concerned about the welfare of the poor and the downtrodden.
Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur said that it was only the BJP where a common party worker can rise to the topmost position in the party, whereas all the other political parties are headed by families. He said that the state is also fortunate that despite being small, it not only has a national president, but also a dynamic Union minister in the form of Anurag Singh Thakur who was holding a very important portfolio of information and broadcasting and youth affairs and sports.
He said that the BJP government in Himachal Pradesh during the last over four years has always strived hard to make the state as most progressive state of the country. He said that the Congress party has completely lost its base in the entire country and the state.
Union minister of information and broadcasting Anurag Thakur said that by winning all the four states under the able leadership of national BJP president J P Nadda would surely win in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh as well.
