Three teams entered the 2019 NBA Draft Lottery with a 14 percent chance of landing the No. 1 overall pick – but it was the 33-win New Orleans Pelicans who emerged as the biggest winners on lottery night. The Pelicans had just a six percent chance at the No. 1 pick, but New Orleans will be the first team on the clock on June 20th.
New York Knicks fans had been hoping that Zion Williamson would be the prize after posting the worst record in the NBA this season, but the Knicks are stuck with the No. 3 pick in 2019. According to FTW’s Andy Nesbitt, avoiding the Knicks may have been a huge win for Zion.
