'Congratulations City' - Arsenal fans question Mikel Arteta’s decision ahead of Man City clash

Arsenal fans have taken to social media to give their reaction to Mikel Arteta’s starting lineup for the FA Cup semi-final against Man City.

Both teams go into the game at Wembley knowing that a win will take them to the final and in with a chance of picking up silverware this season.

The chance could be even more significant for Arsenal as winning the FA Cup would also mean that they claim a place in the Europa League next season, something that their current league position wouldn’t do.

Ahead of the game, Arteta has named his starting lineup.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been brought back into the side, with Rob Holding and Bukayo Saka dropping to the bench, in the two changes from the Gunners’ win over Liverpool in their last outing.

Shkodran Mustafi, David Luiz and Kieran Tierney play as the back three ahead of Emiliano Martinez, with Maitland-Niles as the left wing-back and Hector Bellerin on the opposite side.

Upon the announcement, Gunners’ fans gave their immediate reaction, which proved to be mixed, however, some had some questions for Arteta about his decision to drop Holding and Saka.

Here is what they said.

Should Arsenal be successful in their aim of making it to the FA Cup final, they will have to wait until tomorrow to find out their opponents.

Manchester United and Chelsea play out the second semi-final at Wembley at 6:00 pm on Sunday evening.

Should they get there, the FA Cup final will be played at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, August 1.
