It’s been suggested that if the Duchess of Cambridge gives birth in the days leading up to the election, this will benefit the Tories. But psychological research on “unconscious priming” suggests a different outcome. When people hear that “the Duchess is in labour” this will nudge them, unconsciously, towards voting Labour.
