Congolese journalist is shot dead

Three gunmen killed a journalist after forcing their way into his home in the Democratic Republic of Congo at the weekend. Mwamba Bapuwa, 64, survived a previous attack in March. His killing comes amid growing fears of a crackdown on the media as Congo prepares to hold its first free elections in four decades on July 30.
