NSW residents who have been in Victoria in the last 14 days will have to isolate at home and follow the rules implemented during Victorian governments five-day lockdown.
The announcement has caused confusion among residents at the border as NSW Health has not yet announced whether there will be any exceptions in place for cross-border communities.
The NSW Department of Health and Health Minister's office has been contacted for clarification.

The Health Department's statement said Mr Hazzard will issue a directive later today to ensure anyone who recently entered NSW from Victoria follows the 'stay at home' rules in place in Victoria for five days.
"The new Order will require anyone who has been in Victoria at any time on or after Friday 29 January 2021, remains at their home or place of residence for the five-day period announced by the Victorian government," it said.
"People now in NSW who have been in Victoria on or since 29 January will be permitted to leave their places of residence for the same four reasons allowed under the Victorian restrictions. There are: shopping for essential items, medical and other care and caregiving, exercise, and essential work."

The department also said people who are subject to the Victorian restrictions should not be travelling to NSW unless they are permitted to do so.
The state has strongly advised against all non-essential travel to Victoria and said anyone who does travel to the state will be required to follow the stay-at-home restrictions on their return.
