Confused West Lothian residents woke to the sounds of loud bangs and a burnt out car in their street.
The singed Vauxhall Astra was spotted in Whitburn by puzzled locals this morning.
Neighbours in Dixon Terrace took to social media to share their surprise.

One social media, one person wrote: "Anybody heard a couple of big bangs late last night?
"Seen this burnt out car up the back dunno if it's related or how long it's been there?"
Another local replied, confirming the information: "Yeah it happened last night. We could see it from our window."
Another Facebook comment said: "Yeah, it was like 11.30pm last night, fire engine was there putting the fire out for a good hour or so."

Further comments agreed with the incident, with one saying: "Someone set it alight last night."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received report of a car on fire at Dixon Terrace, where it meets Polkemmet Road in Whitburn, Bathgate, around 12.20am on Thursday, 2 September, 2021.
"Enquiries are ongoing.”
The burnt-out car is still sitting in an off-road area next to the Heartlands estate, close-by to the Buildbase depot.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.35pm on Wednesday, September 1 to reports of a fire in the open at the junction of Polkemmet Road and Dixon Terrace, Bathgate.
“Operations Control mobilised one appliance and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting one vehicle
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
