Confirmed West Ham team vs Southampton: Wholesale changes as Lanzini, Yarmolenko and Dawson start

David Moyes has made a number of changes to his West Ham side as they take on Southampton.

Moyes has heavily rotated his side for their second game in four days as Craig Dawson makes his West Ham debut after signing on loan from Watford.

Ryan Fredericks makes his first start for West Ham since the 4-0 victory over Wolves way back on September 27 and the 4-0 win over Wolves when he was forced off with a hamstring injury.

Fredericks has played the grand total of one minute in the Premier League since then but is thrown in from the off at St Mary’s.

Manuel Lanzini also starts in the Premier League for the first time this season, as does Andriy Yarmolenko for the first time in the top flight.

Both came off the bench for the 2-2 draw with Brighton on Sunday and made a big impact as Moyes’ side came from behind twice to earn a point at London Stadium.

Said Benrahma misses out though for the Hammers in their heavily rotated squad which will be sure to raise eyebrows with the Algerian on the bench. Dawson is also preferred to Issa Diop as Angelo Ogbonna starts at centre back.

Fredericks will play right back and Aaron Cresswell on the opposite flank as Moyes reverts to a back four once again.

Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek line up in the middle of the park and Pablo Fornals has been recalled at the expense of Mark Noble.

Sebastien Haller leads the line as expected with Michail Antonio back in the squad after recovering from hamstring injury to take his place on the bench.

West Ham: Fabianski; Fredericks, Dawson, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Rice, Soucek; Lanzini, Fornals, Yarmolenko; Haller.
