Confirmed West Ham team vs Oxford: Nathan Holland and Arthur Masuaku start

As expected, Manuel Pellegrini has made plenty of changes to his West Ham team to face Oxford United in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

The manager has made nine changes in total from the team that beat Manchester United 2-0 in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon and the headline news is the inclusion of youngster Nathan Holland from the start.

Holland starts for the senior side for the first time since he appeared against Bolton Wanderers at London Stadium in September 2017 in the same competition.

As expected, Albian Ajeti leads the line up front and makes just his second start of the season, again in the Carabao Cup.

Jack Wilshere starts his first game in a month, since the last Carabao Cup game at Newport, in midfield alongside Robert Snodgrass who is in he same boat.

Pablo Zabaleta skippers the team from right back in place of Ryan Fredericks and Fabian Balbuena is also in from the start. The Paraguayan defender lines up alongside Issa Diop, much like he did at Newport, as Angelo Ogbonna gets the night off.

Roberto starts in goal as Lukasz Fabianski is rested and Pellegrini has selected Arthur Masuaku at left back, which puts into doubt his position as the number one left back ahead of the game against Bournemouth this weekend.

West Ham: Roberto; Zabaleta, Diop, Balbuena, Masuaku; Sanchez, Wilshere, Snodgrass, Holland, Fornals; Ajeti.
