Confirmed West Ham team vs Newcastle: Winston Reid and Josh Cullen start

Lukasz Fabianski will get his first run out of pre-season this afternoon as he has been named in the starting lineup for West Ham's Premier League trophy tie against Newcastle in Shanghai.

The Polish stopper has been training for the past fortnight but was left out of the squad for the 4-1 defeat to Manchester City which second-string goalkeeper Roberto started and finished, the only Hammers player to do so in Nanjing.

Also named in the starting eleven is Winston Reid, who starts a match for the first time in 18 months having returned to fitness following two successive serious knee injuries, one of which kept him out for the entire 2018/19 campaign.

Josh Cullen makes his first start of pre-season as well as he is named in midfield alongside Manuel Lanzini, Andriy Yarmolenko, Felipe Anderson and Declan Rice.

Pablo Zabaleta starts at right back and Aaron Cresswell makes his first start of the pre-season as well after getting 45 minutes off the bench against City.

Manuel Pellegrini hinted after the City defeat that he would ring the changes for the match against Newcastle as he bids to give the majority of his players the same amount of game time over the two matches in China.

West Ham: Fabianski; Zabaleta, Reid, Ogbonna, Cresswell; Rice, Cullen, Lanzini, Yarmolenko; Anderson, Chicharito.
