Confirmed West Ham team vs Gillingham: formation change as Lanzini, Diop and Masuaku start

David Moyes has named a very strong West Ham side to take on Gillingham in the FA Cup third round tie at Priesfield - and there is a change of formation as well.

The Hammers manager has named three centre backs and two wing backs in his starting eleven, which shows three changes from the side that beat Bournemouth 4-0 on New Year's Day.

Issa Diop, Manuel Lanzini and Arthur Masuaku all come in as Pablo Fornals, Aaron Cresswell and Mark Noble make way.

Masuaku and Ryan Fredericks will operate as full backs, with Diop, Fabian Balbuena and Angelo Ogbonna the three centre halves.

Declan Rice lines up in defensive midfield just behind Robert Snodgrass as Moyes harks back to the formation he used when he was last in charge at the club 18 months ago.

Felipe Anderson, Manuel Lanzini and Sebastien Haller are the front three, with Lanzini replacing Fornals from the Bournemouth game.

Lukasz Fabianski also starts in goal as Moyes said the Pole would providing he was fit enough having not trained on Friday.

West Ham: Fabianski; Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Balbuena, Masuaku; Rice, Snodgrass, Lanzini, Anderson; Haller.
