Confirmed West Ham team vs Arsenal: Arthur Masuaku starts as David Moyes changes tactics

David Moyes has made one change to the team that was beaten by Newcastle on opening weekend as West Ham face Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday evening.

Hammers captain Mark Noble has been ruled out of this evening’s match with a toe injury. Noble missed training on Friday and was given a pain-killing injection but it was not enough and he will be watching on from home this evening.

In his place comes Arthur Masuaku and it appears that Moyes has tinkered with his usual go-to formation with the inclusion of Aaron Cresswell as well as Masuaku.

It appears to be a back five with Cresswell slotting in as a third centre half alongisde Issa Diop and Angelo Ogbonna, with Masuaku and Ryan Fredericks playing as wing backs.

In midfield, Tomas Soucek and Declan Rice will be the midfield pairing following their rests in midweek. Jarrod Bowen will occupy the right hand side of midfield while Pablo Fornals the other.

Michail Antonio leads the line up front as Moyes resists the temptation to play Sebastien Haller despite the Frenchman scoring twice in midweek.

Lukasz Fabianski starts in goal as he keeps his number one shirt from the clutches of Darren Randolph, who played in the Carabao Cup.

West Ham: Fabianski; Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Masuaku; Rice, Soucek, Fornals, Bowen; Antonio.
