Confirmed West Ham team to play Man City: Wilshere, Johnson and Roberto start

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini has named Michail Antonio as his striker for the Premier League Asia Trophy clash against Manchester City in Nanjing.

With the manager allowed to make up to ten substitutions in the game, there is not much to read in to Javier Hernandez taking a place on the bench as he is likely to see game time.

Jack Wilshere is rewarded for his excellent 45 minutes against Altach last week as he gets the nod from the start in an attacking midfield duo alongside Manuel Lanzini.

Ben Johnson starts against City for a second time in his career having made his debut against Pep Guardiola's side in the Premier League season when he impressed in the absence of both Arthur Masuaku and Aaron Cresswell - the latter is named on the bench.

Antonio also led the line from the start against Altach though he frequently swapped positions with Felipe Anderson, who also starts in Nanjing this afternoon.

Lukasz Fabianski is not involved in the game as Roberto starts in goal. Declan Rice, who came off the bench last week in Austria.

Mark Noble skippers the side as usual in midfield alongside Rice in front of a back four of Johnson, Issa Diop, Angelo Ogbonna and Ryan Fredericks.

West Ham: Roberto, Fredericks, Ogbonna, Diop, Johnson; Rice, Noble, Lanzini, Wilshere; Anderson, Antonio.
