Confirmed West Ham lineup vs Athletic Bilbao: Fabianski out but Fredericks returns

Manuel Pellegrini has once again named a strong side for West Ham's final pre-season friendly of the summer as they take on Athletic Bilbao at London Stadium.

The Hammers manager has once again named a midfield quartet of Pablo Fornals, Jack Wilshere, Manuel Lanzini and Felipe Anderson for a third game running, with Spaniard Fornals making his non-competitive home debut.

Also doing just that is Sebastien Haller, who starts as the lone striker again in front of the midfield four.

Mark Noble is not fit enough to return to the squad after missing the last two matches with a dead leg so is ruled out for a third game in a row.

At left back, Aaron Cresswell is preferred to Arthur Masuaku and skippers the side once again.

Lukasz Fabianski missed out against Hertha Berlin after suffering a minor groin problem in the warm up and he is not risked against Bilbao as Roberto starts in goal for the second game in a row.

Declan Rice lines up in defensive midfield as usual in front of the back four, with Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena continuing their centre back partnership and Ryan Fredericks returns at right back at the expense of Ben Johnson. Fredericks had missed the last two games with a groin problem.

West Ham: Roberto; Fredericks, Diop, Balbuena, Cresswell; Rice, Lanzini, Fornals, Anderson, Wilshere; Haller.
