Confirmed West Ham line-up vs Burnley: Fornals starts as Zabaleta and Yarmolenko are dropped

Manuel Pellegrini has made two changes from the team that was beaten by Newcastle United last week as West Ham go in search of their first win in seven.

Ryan Fredericks and Pablo Fornals have returned to the starting XI as Pablo Zabaleta and Andriy Yarmolenko are dropped to the bench.

Roberto continues between the posts. The goalkeeper has struggled since stepping in for the injured Lukasz Fabianski and the Hammers have been especially suspect from set pieces.

Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena continue at centre back, while Mark Noble and Declan Rice will line up in central midfield.

Sebastien Haller leads the line.

Without a win since outclassing Manchester United in mid-September, a positive result for Pellegrini’s team at Turf Moor is crucial – not least because of a daunting run of fixtures after the international break.

Burnley have hardly been in stellar form either, conceding three without reply away to Sheffield United last weekend.

Sean Dyche’s side have lost their past three games and are a point behind the Hammers in 14th place.

The form book suggests that goals, despite Roberto’s form, may also be at a premium – only two of the past nine games at Turf Moor have seen both teams score.

West Ham XI: Roberto; Fredericks, Balbuena, Diop, Cresswell; Rice, Noble; Snodgrass, Fornals, Anderseon; Haller.

Subs: Martin, Zabaleta, Ogbonna, Sanchez, Lanzini, Yarmolenko, Ajeti.
