As Spring gets underway and the weather starts to pick up, thoughts often turn to holidays and what is coming up for the rest of the year. Over the next two months, there will be five bank holidays for people across England, Scotland and Wales including an extra one specifically for 2023. The bonus day is to celebrate King Charles III's coronation in May.
Planning annual leave around bank holidays can often be a good way of making the most of your time off so knowing ahead of time when the bank holidays fall can be advantageous.
Be aware that if a bank holiday falls on a weekend, which can often happen around celebrations such as Christmas, a ‘substitute’ weekday becomes a bank holiday, normally the following Monday.

It is also important to know that your employer does not have to give you paid leave on bank or public holidays. Bank holidays may also affect how and when your benefits are paid.
There are eight bank holidays in total remaining this year, as reported in Liverpool Echo recently, with a glut of those falling in the next couple of months. Here's what is coming up.
