Confirmed: The big changes Forest are making to boost their push for Premier League football

Nottingham Forest have confirmed a major double appointment behind the scenes at the City Ground that could bolster their future Premier League hopes.

The club have announced that French duo Francois Modesto and Jose Anigo have both assumed roles working alongside current Trentside chief Sabri Lamouchi.

Lamouchi's reign has got off to a flying start in the Championship and now, working with owner Evangelos Marinakis, the club are beginning to steer in a new direction.

Modesto, who turned out for Olympiacos and Monaco during his long playing career, is the club's new technical director in a role that will see him head the first team's recruitment and aid the first-team squad.

The 41-year-old has previously worked in roles under Mainakis as chief scout for Olympiacos helping to bring Daniel Podence, Jose Sa, Medy Camara and Peppe Cisse to the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium - all four bringing great success to the club.

Anigo, 58, has been revealed as Forest's head of international recruitment and will oversee foreign signing such as Brice Samba and Chema Rodriguez.

The Marseille legend, who returned as manager in 2003, led the club to a UEFA Cup final while in the dug out on the south coast of France and helped to recruit players such as Didier Drogba, Franck Ribery, Matthieu Valbuena and Hatem Ben Arfa.

NottinghamshireLive understands that the pair have been working in their respective roles for some time already, with Modesto travelling with the club during their pre-season tour, but the club say they are delighted to have now official confirmed the appointments.

Lamouchi's men are currently behind only West Bromwich Albion in the Championship standings after 11 matches and can put themselves in pole position for promotion with a win over Wigan Athletic on Sunday.
