Confirmed QPR team vs Nottingham Forest: Striker Lewis Walker handed full debut

QPR have handed young striker Lewis Walker a full debut for their last home game of the 2018-19 Championship season, as they welcome Nottingham Forest to Loftus Road.

Walker comes in for Nahki Wells in one of three changes to the team beaten by Harry Wilson’s two stoppage-time goals at Derby on Easter Monday, with Ebere Eze and Toni Leistner both returning to the fold.

Luke Freeman and Pawel Wszolek both drop to the bench, with Darnell Furlong moving over to right-back, and there’s also a place among the subs for academy player Nathan Carlyle.

QPR’s safety had already been confirmed by the time Wilson broke the deadlock at Pride Park, with Rotherham’s defeat at home to Birmingham City ensuring the Yorkshire side would be unable to match the Rs’ 48-point tally.

EFL issue stark warning to QPR, Millwall and their Championship rivals over pitch invasions

QPR could climb to 17th with a victory, depending on results elsewhere, or could fall to 20th if they fail to win and Reading pick up three points at Middlesbrough.

The reverse fixture at the City Ground saw QPR pick up their first ever away win against Forest, with Leistner scoring the only goal in a hard-fought victory just before Christmas.

Last season’s meeting at Loftus Road ended 5-2 to the visitors, with six of the game’s seven goals arriving after half-time. Massimo Luongo, who starts in the middle today, was one of QPR’s scorers that day.

QPR: Lumley, Furlong, Leistner, Cameron, Manning, Osayi-Samuel, Scowen, Luongo, Eze, Walker, Hemed. Subs: Ingram, Carlyle, Wszolek, Freeman, Shodipo, Smith, Wells.
