Nottingham Forest have confirmed Paul Trollope has been appointed as Chris Hughton’s assistant manager.
The former Fulham midfielder was Hughton’s number two at Brighton for three years until the duo left the Premier League side last year.
The duo have also worked together at Birmingham and Norwich City where Trollope was first-team coach.
The ex-Derby player also has management experience of his own having led Bristol Rovers to promotion via the play-offs in 2007.
He will now be tasked with helping restore the fortunes of Forest who have had a miserable start to the campaign having lost every game so far.
The form cost Sabri Lamouchi his job on Tuesday night but Hughton and Trollope will be looking to make the perfect start when the new era gets under way at Blackburn Rovers after the international break.
