Confirmed: Packers to open 2019 season in Chicago against Bears

The Green Bay Packers will officially open the 2019 NFL season against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Thursday, Sept. 5.

The 199th meeting between the Packers and Bears will kick off at 7:20 p.m. CT and be televised nationally on NBC as part of the league’s 100th season celebration.

The oldest rivalry in the NFL will play its 199th game to open the 2019 season. It will also mark the first regular season game for new Packers coach Matt LaFleur.

According to Packers.com, the Packers and Bears have played against each other 14 straight years in primetime, the longest active streak in the NFL.

Last season, the Packers came from behind to beat the Bears in Week 1 at Lambeau Field. The Bears returned the favor in Chicago, clinching the NFC North title with a win over the Packers at Soldier Field in Week 15.
