Confirmed: Nottingham Forest to face newly promoted Lincoln City in pre-season

Nottingham Forest will make the short trip to face newly promoted Lincoln City, as part of their preparations for the new Championship campaign.

Martin O’Neill’s side will head to Sincil Bank on Monday July 29 (7.30pm) to take on the Imps.

Danny Cowley’s side won the League Two title to secure their place in the third-tier.

Lincoln’s success has left Cowley - and his brother and assistant Nicky Cowley - as wanted men this summer, with both West Brom and Middlesbrough understood to have included them on shortlists, as the Championship clubs look for a new manager.

But, regardless of whether the duo remain in the home dug out or not, Forest have agreed to a game against Lincoln, just before the new season kicks-off.

Forest will head out to Greece for two games earlier in the month, where they will face Atromitos on Saturday July 13 and Olympiacos a few days later, on Tuesday July 16.

The club are also expected to head out to Spain for another pre-season training camp, although the precise details of that trip are yet to be confirmed.
