Confirmed: Nottingham Forest star signs new contract amid Everton transfer link

Matty Cash has signed a new contract with Nottingham Forest.

The 22-year-old, who has been one of a number of stars under Sabri Lamouchi this season, has penned a three-and-a-half-year deal with the club.

Cash, who joined the Reds’ Academy when he was 17, has shone in a new role under Lamouchi this season.

Having started life as an attacking midfielder, the 22-year-old has been utilised at right-back as Forest have shown their promotion credentials in the opening months of the campaign.

Lamouchi has then fourth in the table, and Cash has been impressed by the ambitions at the City Ground to commit his future.

The news will come as a big boost to the club and the Forest supporters.

Cash, who has been linked with Premier League side Everton, has made 19 appearances in all competitions under Lamouchi, scoring two goals – both of which coming in 2-1 home defeats to West Bromwich Albion and Hull City.
