Confirmed: Nottingham Forest announce striker transfer deal

Nottingham Forest have completed their second signing of the January transfer window, bringing in striker Nuno da Costa.

The 28-year-old has put pen to paper on a permanent contract with the Reds, making the move from French side Strasbourg for an undisclosed fee, reported to be around 2m euros.

Recruiting a forward had been the priority for Forest this month, with Lewis Grabban left as the only recognised front man in the squad after Rafa Mir’s loan spell from Wolverhampton Wanderers was cut short.

And head coach Sabri Lamouchi had made no secret of his wish to strengthen his attacking resources in a bid to add more goals and creativity to his side as they look to maintain a promotion push.

Da Costa follows the arrival of winger Adama Diakhaby, who last week joined on loan from Huddersfield Town until the end of the season.

The Cape Verde international joined Strasbourg from Valenciennes in 2017 and has made 20 appearances this term, scoring two goals.

He could make his debut at the weekend, when the Reds make the trip to face Birmingham City.

Forest have until 11pm on Friday evening to make any further signings, before the window closes.
