Newcastle United are considering a move for Inter Milan's right-winger Valentino Lazaro.
The 23-year-old is available for a January move after failing to get into the side at the San Siro this season following a summer move from Hertha Berlin.
The Magpies during his time in Germany.
However, there is also interest from West Ham United meaning Newcastle could face a major fight for his signature this January.
Bruce did not dismiss Lazaro's name at his Press conference, he said: “Well I think I said it last week, it would be wrong to talk about individuals.”
“We have been linked with about 58 players. He’s the latest one. I don’t want to comment on that just yet.”
When asked about transfers in general Bruce said: “We have said that the targets have to improve us. He has been fully supportive of the remit.
“He agrees we buy quality not quantity. That has to be the mantra.”
