Nottingham Forest chairman Nicholas Randall QC has been voted on to the board of the English Football League.
Randall is joined by Preston North End director Peter Risdale and Middlesbrough Chief Executive Neil Bausor.
Three new members have filled the vacancies left by the resignations of Nigel Howe and Stephen Pearce, of Reafing and Derby County respectively, while Mark Ashton leaves the board after swapping Bristol City for Ipswich Town.
Randall, Risdale and Bausor will represent the Championship on the board of the EFL and they have been voted in by second tier clubs.
NottinghamshireLive reported on Tuesday that, if Randall was to land the position, it would be 'a considerable positive for the club'.
It will not impact his position at Forest.
Randall has been chairman of the Reds since Greek businessman Evangelos Marinakis took control of Forest in 2017.
"I’d like to once again thank those departing for the contribution they have all made during their tenure on the board," EFL chair Rick Parry said.
"We now move forward and welcome three new and highly experienced individuals to represent Championship Clubs.
“There remain some big challenges ahead, particularly as we await the outcome of the Fan Led Review, seek fairer financial distribution across the pyramid and re-open our stadiums to supporters at the start of the domestic season in a few weeks’ time.
"But I have no doubt that their understanding of the key issues and their knowledge of the footballing landscape will prove invaluable for the EFL at this time.
The Athletic report that Stoke City chief executive Tony Scholes, Paul Conway at Barnsley and a Birmingham City director were also under consideration for a role on the EFL's board.
