Confirmed: Joao Carvalho leaves Nottingham Forest on loan

Nottingham Forest midfielder Joao Carvalho has left the City Ground for Almeria.

The £13million signing has linked up with the Spanish Second Division side on a season-long loan deal.

A brief statement issued by the Reds this evening said: “Nottingham Forest can confirm that Joao Carvalho has joined Spanish Second Division side Almeria on a season-long loan deal.

“The club would like to wish Joao the best of luck for the 2020-21 season.”

Carvalho played an hour of the Reds’ 1-0 Carabao Cup defeat at Barnsley in early September, but hasn’t figured in the squad since and is not part of manager Sabri Lamouchi’s plans.
