Confirmed coronavirus cases in Lothian area rise by 28 in the last day – taking total number to 139

There are now 139 confirmed coronavirus cases in the Lothian area.

The latest official figures from the Scottish Government show that there are 28 new cases to report in the area from yesterday's figure of 111.

There are now 41 confirmed cases in Fife, and there have been 81 positive tests in Forth Valley.

In all, 12,273 tests have been concluded.

It was revealed by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon earlier today that eight people had died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths across the country to 33. 72 people are currently in intensive care.

There are 1059 confirmed cases in Scotland – an increase of 165 from yesterday's figure.
