Confirmed Chelsea team vs Sheffield United: Giroud starts, Hudson-Odoi benched

Thomas Tuchel has made three changes to his side as Chelsea take on Sheffield United in the Premier League at a freezing Bramall Lane.

The back five remains in tact for a fourth game in a row and it is the same one that finished the game against Spurs. Andreas Christensen, who replaced Thiago Silva midway through the first half on Thursday, starts against the Blades.

He is joined in the back five by Cesar Azpiliceuta, the resurgent Antonio Rudiger, Reece James and the recalled Ben Chilwell in defence.

In midfield, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic start together for a fourth game in a row and are joined in the middle of the park by Mason Mount.

Up front, there is a recall for Olivier Giroud as he starts alongside Timo Werner. Callum Hudson-Odoi drops to the bench as it looks as if Tuchel has opted for a 5-3-2 formation.

As usual, Edouard Mendy lines up in goal for the Blues.

Chelsea: Mendy; James, Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Christensen, Chilwell; Jorginho, Kovacic, Mount; Giroud, Werner.
