Confirmed Chelsea team vs Norwich City: Kai Havertz and Callum Hudson-Odoi start, no N'Golo Kante

Kai Havertz and Callum Hudson-Odoi both start for Chelsea this lunchtime as they face Premier League bottom side Norwich City in the early kick off at Stamford Bridge.

The attacking pair replace injured duo Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, who are both ruled out this afternoon after sustaining injuries in the 4-0 midweek win over Malmo in the Champions League.

Those two are part of a front three and are joined by Mason Mount in the attacking trio. Hakim Ziyech is not recalled despite the absences of Werner and Lukaku.

There is a change in midfield from the midweek win in the Champions League as N'Golo Kante is rested, with Mateo Kovacic partnering Jorginho for the first time since the rather limp defeat to Juventus in the Champions League.

There is no spot for Ruben Loftus-Cheek as he is back on the bench having started the last two Premier League games for the Blues.

In defence, Trevoh Chalobah starts for a third straight game at centre back alongside Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger, with Andreas Christensen rested alongside Cesar Azpilicueta after their midweek exploits. Malang Sarr drops out from the win over Brentford when he made his Premier League debut for the club.

Reece James starts for the first time since his injury and having had two substitute appearances against Brentford and Malmo, while Ben Chilwell keeps his place at left wing-back ahead of Marcos Alonso.

Edouard Mendy starts in goal once again for the home side looking to continue his impressive start to the 2021/22 season.

Chelsea: Mendy; James, Chalobah, Silva, Rudiger, Chilwell; Jorginho, Kovacic; Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Havertz.
