Frank Lampard has named Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Hakim Ziyech in his starting XI to face Morecambe in the FA Cup third round.
Under pressure following a poor spell of results, the Blues boss has opted to give several senior stars game time in order to regain confidence and form.
Kepa Arrizabalaga starts in goal for the Blues. The Spaniard has featured just twice since the arrival of Edouard Mendy from Rennes in the summer transfer window.
The back four is one of experience. Cesar Azpilicueta will captain the side from right back with, somewhat surprisingly, Kurt Zouma next to him. Antonio Rudiger is the Frenchman's centre-back partner will Emerson at left-back.
Billy Gilmour will anchor the midfield and ahead of him will be Mason Mount and Kai Havertz. It is the German's first start for five matches.
The front three is the most intriguing. Callum Hudson-Odoi's recent good form is rewarded with a start, and in his favoured role on the left wing.
On the right is Hakim Ziyech. The Moroccon international returned from injury against Manchester City last weekend but looked off the pace. This is a chance for him to gain much-needed fitness.
Upfront, and most intriguingly, is Timo Werner. The German start hasn't scored in his last 12 matches for Chelsea and has appeared bereft of confidence.
Taking on League Two opposition will be as good a chance as any for the forward to end his barren run and kickstart the Blues' season.
Disappointingly, none of Tino Livramento, Henry Lawrence, Lewis Bate and Jude Soonsup-Bell, all of whom trained with the first-team squad this week, are included in the match-day squad.
Tino Anjorin is, however, named on the substitutes' bench and could make his fourth senior appearance for the Blues if introduced.
