Romelu Lukaku starts for the first time since October for Chelsea as he is one of four changes for the game against Brighton at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
The Belgian's last start for the Blues came in the 4-0 thumping of Malmo in the Champions League on October 20 and having made a huge impact off the bench against Aston Villa on Boxing Day, is back in from the start.
Lukaku starts at the head of the front three which includes Mason Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi, who starts for a second time in a row following his return from Covid isolation.
In defence, there are two changes. Thiago Silva misses out with a hamstring injury he sustained on Boxing Day and is replaced by Andreas Christensen. Trevoh Chalobah is also out from that team who started at Villa Park, Cesar Azpilicueta replaces him and Antonio Rudiger also starts.
Reece James appears to be starting at left wing-back and Christian Pulisic at right wing-back in a much-changed defence from Boxing Day, with Marcos Alonso among the substitutes.
Into midfield, there is no N'Golo Kante in the starting elven after his knee problem he suffered in the win at Villa. He is replaced in the eleven by Mateo Kovacic, who starts in the league for the first time since October 23 but Kante is named among the substitutes.
The Croat partners Jorginho in the middle of the park for the home side this evening. As always, Edouard Mendy lines up in goal.
